Terms of Service

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Someone younger may use JCIL.AI only on a Family plan seat, invited by a parent or legal guardian who consents and manages the seat (see Family plans and seat controls below). You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate account information
• Maintaining the security of your password and session
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Trial: every new account starts with a 14-day trial of the full product. No payment method is required. When the trial ends you can subscribe or stop; your conversations, memories and documents stay readable either way.

Plans: JCIL.AI offers 3 subscriptions, each with generous included usage and every feature: Basic at $19 per month or $190 per year; Family at $35 per month or $336 per year for up to 5 people; Plus at $99 per month or $990 per year. Every plan is sold on both intervals, monthly or yearly, and you choose the interval at checkout. You will always be warned before you reach a usage limit, nothing is deleted at it, and you can purchase additional credits for usage beyond what your subscription includes; credits stay on your account as long as it is open and are not redeemable for cash. Pricing is displayed in the application and on our website.

Automatic renewal: every subscription is a recurring charge on the interval you choose at checkout, monthly or yearly. The price of the plan and interval you choose (Basic at $19 per month or $190 per year; Family at $35 per month or $336 per year for up to 5 people; Plus at $99 per month or $990 per year) is charged to your payment method on the day you subscribe and again on the same day of each following month, for a monthly plan, or of each following year, for a yearly plan, automatically, until you cancel. The charge continues at the then-current price until cancellation; we give 14 days notice before any price change.

The trial never charges you. No payment method is collected to start the 14-day trial, so nothing happens automatically when it ends. Recurring billing begins only if you choose to subscribe.

Cancellation: you can cancel at any time from Settings, which opens the Stripe billing portal, or by emailing support@jcil.ai. Cancellation stops the next renewal; it takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep full access until then. Fees for a billing period that has already started are non-refundable except where required by law.

Credits are non-refundable except where required by law or at our sole discretion. Credits stay on your account as long as it is open.

Promotional offers (the trial, any first-month discount shown at checkout, and any complimentary credits) may be modified or discontinued at any time. Changes never affect a billing period you have already paid for.

All payments are processed by Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.

Price changes: We may adjust pricing with 14 days notice to registered users. Price changes do not affect previously purchased credits.

A Family plan is purchased by one account holder (the "family manager"), who may invite other people to seats on the plan. Each seat is a separate account with its own conversations, memories and settings.

Price and renewal: the Family plan is $35 per month, or $336 per year, for up to 5 people including the family manager. It renews automatically on the interval chosen at checkout, monthly or yearly, until the family manager cancels, and only the family manager is charged: a seat is never billed to the person using it. The plan's included usage is a single household pool, split equally across the people on the plan and rebalanced whenever someone joins or leaves.

What the family manager can see and set: for each seat, the family manager can see time and activity: minutes of use estimated from message timing, days active, message counts and when the seat was last active. The family manager can turn connected apps, web search and private chat on or off for a seat, and can limit web search to safe results only. The person on a seat can always see which controls are applied to it.

Never conversations: the family manager never sees the content of any conversation on any seat, and JCIL.AI does not provide conversation content, memories or documents from one seat to another.

Guardian consent: anyone under 16 may use JCIL.AI only on a Family plan seat. By sending an invitation, the family manager confirms that they are the parent or legal guardian of the person invited, or that the person invited is 16 or older, and consents to that person using JCIL.AI on the plan. The family manager is responsible for the supervision of any minor using a seat on their plan.

No monitoring or safety service: JCIL.AI is not a monitoring or safety service. It does not monitor conversations, provides no safety monitoring service, and makes no promise to detect, recognize or report risk, distress or danger on any seat. Activity summaries and seat controls are conveniences, not safeguards. Parents and legal guardians remain responsible for the supervision of minors in their care. If anyone may be in immediate danger, call 911; in the United States you can also call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

You agree not to use JCIL.AI to:

• Generate content that exploits, harms, or endangers minors in any way
• Create content promoting terrorism, violence, or threats against individuals or groups
• Generate sexually explicit content involving minors
• Attempt to circumvent content moderation or safety systems
• Use the service for spam, phishing, or malware distribution
• Impersonate other individuals or entities
• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the service without permission
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the service

We employ automated content moderation, including local detection of jailbreak attempts and spam. Enforcement follows a progressive penalty system:

• First violation: Warning
• Second violation: 10-minute suspension
• Third violation: 1-hour suspension
• Fourth violation: 24-hour suspension
• Fifth violation: 7-day suspension
• Sixth+ violation: Permanent ban

Critical violations (content involving minors, terrorism, direct threats of violence) result in immediate permanent ban and may be reported to law enforcement.

Appeals: If you believe your account was suspended or banned in error, you may submit an appeal through our support page or by emailing appeals@jcil.ai. Appeals are reviewed within 5 business days. Include your account email and a description of the circumstances. We reserve the right to uphold or overturn any enforcement action at our sole discretion.

Ownership: You retain ownership of the content you input into JCIL.AI (messages, uploaded files, prompts).

AI-Generated Content: Content generated by the AI (text responses, drafted emails, summaries, code, and other written output) is provided to you for your use. You may use AI-generated content for personal and commercial purposes, subject to the following limitations:

• You are responsible for ensuring your use of generated content complies with applicable laws
• You should not represent AI-generated content as human-created where disclosure is required by law

License: By using JCIL.AI, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service (sending to AI models, storing conversation history, performing moderation). We do not use your content for training AI models.

We take data security seriously:

• All data encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest
• Database access controlled by row-level security policies
• API keys and secrets stored in environment variables, never in client code
• Infrastructure hosted in the United States
• AI processing through enterprise-grade APIs (data not used for model training)
• Payment processing via Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1)

JCIL.AI integrates with the following third-party services:

• Anthropic: AI model processing for our primary model (Claude) and built-in web search
• AI model hosting provider (backup): processing for our backup model, a frontier open-weight model hosted and processed in the United States with zero data retention on the endpoint we use, used only while Claude is unavailable, disclosed on screen while it is in use
• Speech and embeddings provider: text embeddings for memory and document search, and voice dictation transcription. This provider never receives or answers a conversation
• Database and authentication hosting: a US-hosted managed provider
• Application hosting and file storage: a US-hosted managed provider
• Stripe: Payments
• Transactional email: account and billing email delivery
• Rate-limit store: request counters keyed by user or IP, no message content
• App connections platform: user-connected app connectors (Gmail, GitHub, etc.), acting only on what you ask for
• Error monitoring: error traces and request metadata, with text and inputs masked

Each service operates under its own terms. Your use of connected services (Gmail, GitHub, etc.) through JCIL.AI is subject to those services' terms.

JCIL.AI is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

We do not warrant that:

• AI responses will be accurate, complete, or error-free
• The service will be uninterrupted or available at all times
• Generated content will be free from bias or inaccuracies
• The service will meet your specific requirements

AI outputs are not professional advice. Do not rely on AI-generated content for medical, legal, financial, or life-critical decisions without independent verification.
